La enorme y hermosa basílica de la Sagrada Familia, con capacidad para 9.000 personas, celebró este sábado la beatificación del mártir Joan Roig Diggle, joven de 19 años asesinado por anarquistas en 1936, con algo menos de 600 asistentes, cumpliendo los protocolos y normas de aforo establecidas por las autoridades sanitarias del Procicat.
Las normas sanitarias actuales en Cataluña permiten los actos de culto con un tercio del aforo (que en una basílica para 9.000 personas serían 3.000; la ceremonia contó con menos de un quinto de esa cantidad).
¿Inquietud sanitaria o rabia por el joven mártir?
A las fuerzas políticas de izquierda radical de Cataluña, incluyendo al actual jefe del Govern autonómico, Pere Aragonès, de Esquerra Republicana, les ha molestado mucho la ceremonia. Según ellos, les molesta por razones sanitarias (pese a la perfecta legalidad del acto) pero muchos sospechan que les molesta porque que se recuerda la violencia asesina en 1936 de entidades de izquierda -incluyendo algunas hoy gobernando- contra católicos civiles y desarmados en la retaguardia.
De hecho, ya en 1936, en su texto «Perill a la retaguardia», el ministro de Industria de la República, el anarquista Joan Peiró, fue una de las pocas voces anarquistas que criticaban las matanzas de civiles especificando que “todos los partidos, desde Estat Català al POUM, pasando por Esquerra Republicana y el Partido Socialista Obrero catalán, han dado un contingente de ladrones y asesinos por lo menos igual al de la CNT y la FAI”.

Pere Aragonès en Catalunya Ràdio declaró que «las imágenes del acto pueden transmitir el mensaje de que para según qué cosas no hay restricciones» y que la Generalitat no había autorizado el acto de forma expresa, sino que la organización se adaptó a las restricciones en vigor con carácter general. «El acto de ayer no estuvo autorizado expresamente por el Procicat, ellos cumplieron con el 30%, dicen, y lo comprobaremos».
El aviso de que «habrá una investigación» es un brindis al sol que no preocupa a la Iglesia, ya que se cumplieron todas las normas sanitarias establecidas.
¿Teatro sí, iglesias no? Son espacios muy distintos
La líder de los «comuns» (postcomunistas) en el Parlament, Jéssica Albiach, ha planteado: «¿Dónde está la coherencia de las restricciones? ¿En el teatro entra el virus y en las iglesias no?».
La CUP (izquierda antisistema independentista) ha hablado de «privilegio eclesiástico: aquel que puede reunir a 600 personas un sábado en plena pandemia y toque de queda y seguir sin pagar el IBI».
La realidad es que la Sagrada Familia es un templo enorme y el acto se realizaba con gran orden y de día, mientras que los teatros suelen ser pequeños y suelen reunir a la gente de noche, con poco orden y ligándolo al ocio nocturno y el consumo de alcohol. El toque de queda no afecta a los actos que se celebran por las mañanas, como la beatificación (y en cuanto al IBI la Iglesia paga el mismo que otras entidades acogidas a la Ley de Mecenazgo, incluyendo culturales y deportivas).
